Orthodontics Treatment

Most commonly, when people hear the word orthodontics, they think about traditional metal braces. While metal braces are a common and effective treatment, they are not the only option. Our practice also offers Invisalign braces, a clear alternative to metal braces that work in a similar fashion. Where metal braces are gradually tightened over time to realign your teeth, Invisalign uses a series of clear braces that fit over your teeth and slowly straighten your teeth. Both options produce effective results and will give you straighter teeth and healthier smile. During your consultation, our team will discuss the pros and cons of each option and help determine which is best for you or your family member. In addition to clear and metal braces, we also offer retainers, which are most commonly used after your braces are removed and are a key step in preserving the alignment of your teeth.

If you or a family member is interested in learning more about treatment options, please give our office a call and schedule an appointment.

Orthodontic FAQs

What to expect during your orthodontics consultation?

Your orthodontics consultation will begin with a thorough examination of your teeth, a conversation with one of our experienced dentists to identify any present issues or concerns, and x-rays to get a clear picture of your smile. With this information, our team will develop a customized treatment plan and present you with your options. We will talk through the benefits of both traditional metal braces and Invisalign braces to help you find the option that is best for you. During the consultation we welcome that you and your family ask any questions you may have. Our experienced team is always here to provide you with the care, information, and resources you need.

How do braces work on crowded teeth?

Whether you choose to use traditional metal braces or Invisalign, braces gradually shift and straighten teeth by applying pressure to them. The straightening process is typically done across an extended period of time (on average 12 months) to slowly shift the teeth into place. This gradual teeth-straightening allows time for your teeth to realign and stay permanently in their new position. It is important to follow the treatment plan, as well as the maintenance routine after your braces come off, laid out by your doctor to ensure your teeth stay in the desired new position. Most patients agree that the process is painless, and the results are outstanding.

Does dental insurance cover braces?

The amount of and type of coverage provided by a dental insurance plan can vary from patient to patient, so we encourage you to check your benefits with your insurance provider to determine if braces are covered in your current plan. During your consultation, our staff will discuss your insurance coverage and expected costs, as well as any available financing options to help ensure the cost does not prevent you from obtaining exceptional oral health. We are happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your dental insurance coverage.
